Year 2 - Horizontal Alignment (Eastern Oregon University)

Institutional Objectives - Outcome to be achieved

A: Information Literacy Project
-Integrate information literacy into periodic program review
-Work with ten (10) programs undergoing PPR

University Writing Requirement (UWR)
-Continue working with faculty to develop discipline-specific UWR criteria for assessment (Business, Education, Music, PPE, Physical Health, Chemistry, Psychology)
-Integrate UWR assessment into PPR

Teaching and Learning Across the Curriculum (T-LAC)
-Civic engagement in General Education Curriculum (GEC)
-Pursue collaboration with Regional Services Commissioner

Freshman/Sophomore Retention
-Consider liberal arts course strands to support freshman/sophomore learning and retention (or preparedness for transfer)

Attend alignment meetings

Year 2 - Vertical Integration (Eastern Oregon University)

Institutional Objectives - Outcome to be achieved

A: Oregon Summit--possible focus on writing and quantitative literacy from community college to university.

B: EOU-BMCC--possible inter-reader reliability pilot on writing competence and expectations in lower-division Business courses (based on development of UWR criteria by EOU's Business program).

A: January 10 Oregon Summit meeting.

B: Vertical collaboration of EOU/BMCC Business faculty during Winter or Spring 2014 using a writing sample from EOU's BA 225, based on completion of EOU's UWR criteria, collaborative faculty norming, resulting in conversation about assessment results.

A: January 10, 2014-participation at Oregon Summit.
