Linkages - Related institutional initiatives/projects

A: A group of faculty and administrators from OSU and LBCC met over the past year to study ways to improve the transfer student experience at OSU. Recommendations that will be implemented over the coming year include: a) Improve the course articulation process so that students have more timely and accurate information through improved advising materials and more efficient methods for articulation of credits into the OSU student record; b) Improve dissemination of information specific to transfer students’ academic needs through a new transfer communication plan (including a central transfer web presence), better communication between OSU and partner institutions, and new transfer tracks in Visitations and Orientations.

B: This effort is related to the establishment of direct assessment practices as part of Vitalization of the Baccalaureate Core, a multi-year faculty-driven and administratively supported effort to enhance the visibility and impact of OSU’s general education program. The overall objectives of this effort are to a) reinforce cohesion in a widely distributed educational program that touches all OSU undergraduates and b) reconfigure program assessment and management to focus on student learning rather than faculty inputs.

C:

Processes - How outcome will be achieved
